Dinners In at Lake Wentworth
For those of you who have visited Wolfeboro, NH, you know how special this place is. Wolfeboro is a quintessential New England town often referred to as "America's oldest summer resort," and is sandwiched between the great Lake Winnipesaukee and the smaller Lake Wentworth. I've been lucky enough to spend time at my in-law's family house on the tranquil Lake Wentworth.
Our visits usually involve reading by the lake, exploring town and visiting the famous bakery the Yum Yum shop (note the above t shirt), eating a lot of food, cocktails on the porch, grilling, fires, movies, card games, and one dinner out at Garwoods.
Our night in this year included grilled steaks with rosemary, butter, and Maytag blue cheese, grilled asparagus and zucchini, and honey corn bread from the Yum Yum shop, served with a California Cabernet Sauvignon (don't mind the solo cup in background--it's very causal).
Our dinners in are always cozy and warm, and are followed by epic fires in the fireplace, a game of cards, or a VHS movie. It's almost like going back in time to a simpler place that allows peace and relaxation at every moment.
