Legal Sea Foods Meets Stonewall Kitchen
There are two things I love as a semi new-New Englander; Legal Sea Foods and Stonewall Kitchen. Yes, I know Legal is a chain, but Will and I dig it. You really can’t go wrong with their clam chowder, oysters, Caesar salad (I love it with crab meat), or crab cakes. We frequent Charlestown’s Legal Oysteria quite a bit with the kids and always leave elated (although maybe that’s the alcohol talking…). If you haven’t tried their clam pizza, it’s a must.
Another New England favorite of mine is Stonewall Kitchen’s delicacies. Who doesn’t love their signature Red Pepper Jelly that put them on the map? Pair that bad boy with a sharp cheddar, and you’ve got yourself a nice snack. Don’t forget their mustards, chocolate sauces, and other gourmet dips.
Just in time for the holidays, Legal Sea Foods and Stonewall Kitchen have collaborated to create some yummy sauces for your next seafood dinner party, including a cocktail and tartar sauce, and a house vinaigrette, and a marinade/dressing. Priced under $8 each, these sauces and condiments could make a great stocking stuffer or host/hostess gift for your culinary friend.
While I pride myself on making most salad dressings, it is rather nice having something bottled and easy to pour when you’re jugging, say two kids at home alone for dinner. Their House Vinaigrette is lovely with an oil and red wine vinegar base, that has a nice acidity, which isn’t overpowering. Perfect for weeknight salads that are simple to prepare.
The tartar sauce is rich and creamy with the right amount of dried dill, and the cocktail sauce is zesty and flavorful; wonderful with shrimp cocktail.
All in all, I was pleased with the new offerings, and can’t wait to enjoy these fun and delicious sauces!
