Milk Sugar Love
Earlier this spring, I went to a vintage jewelry fete at Kanibal Home, a local Jersey City boutique, which I characterize as a modern-day "cabinet of curiosities" (think estate jewelry, unique candles, taxidermy animals, and stationery). At the event, I was introduced to desserts by Milk Sugar Love.
Created by Emma Taylor, who just opened up her own shop on Hamilton Park after originally selling ice cream from a small push cart, these homemade desserts are naughtily delicious. After sampling the mini cupcakes and mini brownies that were fudge-y squares of goodness, we decided to order dozens of little goodies from Milk Sugar Love for our party. Guests loved the chocolate caramel macarons that were concocted of flakey, nutty shells and gooey caramel filling. The mini red velvet cupcakes were also a hit as were her signature fudge-like brownies. Emma now offers homemade ice cream and milk shakes with delicate flavors such as lavender honey using organic, grass fed milk and cream, and all the best New Jersey produce.
