My current job status as stay at home mom is certainly rewarding, but also has it's challenges and difficulties. However, I can thank Van Hook Cheese & Grocery in Jersey City for making my life a little bit better. Van Hook has created a Mommy & Brie class, where moms and their babies can participate in a raw cheese and meat tasting, and make up for those nine or 10 months of avoiding (or not) unpasteurized cheese

I've now attended two and am a huge fan. Each class is held in a private room and we taste four or so cheeses and meats accompanied by dried cherries, figs, nuts, and of course, baguettes. If we're lucky, Carl, the cheesemonger, even offers some of his curated selections of gourmet items, such as the amazing truffle honey or bacon marmalade, which pairs excellently with a sharp cheddar. The class is also a great way to meet other moms and babies.
