During our time in Bordeaux, we obviously tried to eat as much French food as possible. Known as a culinary city, Bordeaux has a plethora of eateries and restaurants, but with a limited time, we only had a few opportunities to dine in the city. 

One of our favorite dining experiences was at Brasserie Bordelaise, a hopping, vibrant restaurant in the heart of the city. We were tucked into a small back room, which was perfect for dining with Marin. At the start of the meal, we received a heaping basket of freshly baked bread, salty butter, and a small can of pate to enjoy. Following the yummy bread course, we slurped down succulent oysters, which were infused with an essence of the French seaside. We also shared homemade gravlax and tuna tartare -- all fresh and flavorful. For entrees, we enjoyed bites of salty and marbled rib eyes, and fall-off-the-bone lamb shanks, all while drinking local whites and reds from the region. It was perfect. And despite being deemed a bit "touristy," many locals we encountered recommended this spot. 

So, if you find yourself in Bordeaux, I highly recommend adding Brasserie Bordelaise to your list!
